Jeff Garbowsky is a Catholic runner — a marathoner and ultramarathoner — from Alexandria. Va., who four years ago lost his mother to cancer and had his wife leave him in the same week. He has been homeless and he has had to recover from a collapsed lung. On March 20, he’ll be running in Washington’s National Marathon.
